Periplus
Wondrous item, common, uncommon, or rare Market Price: 50-750 gp (price varies based on proximity)
A periplus is an invaluable tool for any ship’s captain. It is a document (usually a scroll or codex) that lists coastal landmarks, ports of call, and potential hazards along a shipping route. Without a periplus, a crew is sailing blind into the unknown, and so a wise captain will always make an effort to purchase a reliable periplus before beginning a journey. There are 5 such documents that can be found or purchased in this module. If the player characters acquire a periplus, make a copy of the appropriate periplus to give to players, available in the “Handouts” section.
